Mos Def is coming to the House of Blues in two weeks. I went online to get tickets, and of course Ticketmaster has their hands all over it. They charge a $8.50 "convenience" charge per ticket. What's convenient about that? I ain't payin that. I think Ticketmaster is run by the mafia. I mean, in this day and age, any venue can issue their own tickets online. There's no need for a middle man. Yet Ticketmaster is everywhere, strongarming their way into the sales somehow.
Rather than give in to TM, I drove to Hollywood tonight and went to the box office in person. Even the HOB charges $2 handling and $2 "facility charge" on top of everything. Whatever, I got my tickets and I'm going. mos def.
