Two years ago, I had my first taste of a Quiznos sub. It was a good sandwich. It's obviously not the best meal I've ever had, however if I feel like a sub/sandwich, but don't want to get Subway's floppy cold-cuts and processed cheese, I have no problems spending an extra $2-$3 on a toasted Quiznos sub.
Mostly out of curiousity, and a little out of interest, at the time I spent a bit of time looking into franchising opportunities. At the time, two years ago, San Francisco had three Quiznos restaurants - none in the downtown core. Today it has 14 - three in the downtown core. In the past 5 years, the number of franchises they have has grown by 600%.
I may not be that keen on running a sandwich restaurant day-to-day, but I would put some money down if I knew someone who was opening a place like this... Or better yet, if Quiznos goes public...
