First Game

Just finished my first baseball game. We lost 14 - 8 to the Burbank Yankees. I think the other team scored 11 unearned runs of us. Our shortstop was atrocious. We had two shortstops and they were both atrocious. Being a rookie, I had to give deference to the vets on the team, so they got their first choice on positions (infield). I had to play in right field, were there wasn't much action. But compared to the other guys, I'm a speed demon, so they need me out there.

The Yankees were entirely mexican, they even brought a chihuaha to the game. They took the game much more seriously than we did, and kept screaming at the umpire the whole game. In contrast, we didn't complain about any calls, we were just being pretty laid back about it. I was surprised their manager wasn't tossed. Me, I did bad, 0 for 4 with a rbi. I reached base twice though - they said it was on errors, but at least one I should have been given a hit. I think they were throwing low 70's, which doesn't seem so fast when you're actually up there. Nevertheless, got to hit the cages!
