I have two friends here who are, well, Bush supporters. They're my age, and it's interesting to see two normal people I'm friendly with have, to put bluntly, wack-ass views of the world. The only way I can sustain these friendships is by not discussing poitics with them. Ever. That's the way it has to be. We would just end up being bitter towards eachother, I think.
It didn't really hit home until we were having lunch the other day and they were basically saying they wouldn't blame Israel for wiping out all the palestienians once and for all for their repeated suicide bombings. I just kept my mouth shut, even though I was shocked. I wasn't going to argue this. I just kept eating my rice and beans.
