Just got back from the first practice (last week was rained out) in Encino. I had some Willie Mays moments, and some Willie Mays Hayes moments. But the others didn't seem to mind that much. I hit my first curveball , a couple of them actually, and impressed myself. Of course the pitcher telegraphed them for me, but hey, not bad coming off seven years rest. Playing with contacts on was very comfortable.

Posted by: Tree at February 29, 2004 06:41 PMPS - I originally got my contacts about ten years ago just for sports. Since then I bet you could count the number of days that I've gone without them on my fingers and toes (not even including the massively broken one!)
Posted by: Tree at February 29, 2004 06:43 PMAlthough I get bouts of bluriness in the right eye with contacts on (will see doc on Tuesday for first follow up), I think I could get used to wearing them all the time. One thing is for sure, when I wear my glasses now, it's amazing how concious I am of something sitting on my nose, almost like it's an obstruction.
Tree has been telling me to get contacts since 1997, saying that bald guys should not be wearing glasses.
