Kobe Bryant is in the news. I was just thinking of his name. His parents named him after some japanese restaurant in philly. Kobe's dad was known as "jellybean" - so strange names run in the family.
If you were to pronounce Kobe's name in the proper Japanese - it would sound like "ko-bay" holding the "ko" part for two beats. That's difficult. The only Japanese borrowed word in english that hasn't suffered a (grossly) bastardized pronounciation is probably "tsunami", which literally means big wave.
So, do you think Kobe is guilty or innocent? I can't believe he would be stupid enough to rape someone.... But then again, pro athletes are pretty stupid.
